A doula is a non-medical support person who provides physical, emotional, and educational support for pregnant and postpartum persons and their families before, during, and after childbirth or end of pregnancy.
Every doula's path to this work looks different. Some hold formal certifications from training organizations. Others come rooted in lived experience, cultural knowledge, or ancestral birthing traditions that have supported families long before certifications existed. Both are legitimate. What matters most is that your doula shows up with care, competence, and a deep commitment to you.

A midwife is a licensed medical professional who provides clinical care throughout pregnancy, delivers your baby, and manages medical decisions. They are an alternative to an OB-GYN for your prenatal and birth care.
A doula is a trained non-medical support person who provides continuous emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and after birth. We don't deliver babies or provide clinical care but we're with you every step of the way.
Many families choose to work with both a midwife and a doula.

Our consultation is a free 30-minute video call to get to know each other. This time is first and foremost about you: your pregnancy or postpartum journey, your needs, and how you want to be supported. I'll also share how I work and what I can offer. By the end, we hope to have a sense of whether we're the right fit for each other. This is a mutual relationship, and I want you to feel as confident choosing me as I feel showing up for you.
